Example: paid every two weeks on Fridays
Starting January 8, these are the months with an extra paycheck in 2027.
| Month | Paydays |
|---|---|
| April | April 2, April 16, April 30 |
| October | October 1, October 15, October 29 |
Your dates will differ if your cycle falls on the other Friday, so enter your own payday above.
Why a third paycheck matters
If you are paid every two weeks, most months have two paydays and two months usually have three. Rent, car payments and other monthly bills stay the same, so that third check is largely free to put toward savings or debt.
Weekly pay works the same way, with four or occasionally five paydays a month. Twice-a-month pay never produces an extra check.
2027 federal holidays
The calendar marks these days off for federal employees: New Year's Day, January 1; Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 18; Presidents' Day, February 15; Memorial Day, May 31; Juneteenth (observed), June 18; Independence Day (observed), July 5; Labor Day, September 6; Columbus Day, October 11; Veterans Day, November 11; Thanksgiving Day, November 25; Christmas Day (observed), December 24; New Year's Day (observed), December 31.
When a payday lands on a weekend or one of these days, the calendar shows it on the business day before, which is what many employers do. Your employer's payroll calendar always wins if the two differ.
Common questions
